Charlie Smithgall Memorial Shoot
August 17th & 18th
Smithgall's Musket & Artillery Range, PA
The Smithgall Family has graciously extended the use of their farm to the BAR to once again use their 275 scenic acres of rural Amish farmland in the heart of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, for a Memorial Firelock Match. We honor late Charlie Smithgall, Ross’s Rifle Co., with the BAR returning since 2012, to an outstanding private range, with it’s own functional blockhouse! And, now with the addition of the Artillery Museum housing
Charlie’s collection of Artillery, the largest private collection in the USA, possibly the world! THIS ALONE IS
OPPORTUNITY IS NOT TO BE MISSED!
The BAR has a long history of re-enacting and friendly firelock matches. You don’t necessarily have to shoot to enjoy and now the private tour of the Artillery Museum gives you another reason to attend.
If you would like to camp and live fire your weapon without competing that’s perfectly acceptable. But I have to warn you, once you’re at the Range you might not be able to resist partaking in a real back country shooting match.
The objective for the weekend is fun and relaxation in an 18th Century setting. Bring the whole family. Non-shooters can tour the Lancaster County area or just enjoy the event. By the way, we mean the whole family is welcome. This is a pet friendly site. You are only required to contain your pet (working farm, you know) and
clean up after it.
62 years ago the BAR was founded by Live Shooters and 241 years
ago the American Revolution was won not by firing blanks! As
we approach the 250th of the beginning of the War for
Independence, Honor our heritage and history, and be there!
